We had a great week! Auntie Em arrived on Saturday and Ruby has a new playmate. She loves dancing with Auntie Em and being chased around the house. She's not interested in Mommy or Daddy chasing her, she like Auntie Em to do it. Em is equally enamoured, it's been great to have an extra set of hands around! I think we finally got Ruby back to her normal sleeping routine. It took an hour of letting her cry at from 5am-6am on Saturday morning but since then she hasn't been up early. It was hard but well worth it for all of us.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
We're all finally back to normal in the Vogt household! Ruby's teething pain seems to have let up a little and the horrible diaper rash is almost gone. Poor baby. We had a good, busy week. Daddy had to go to Savannah for work for a couple of days and we had a Christmas party on Saturday night. It was nice to get out for some adult time! Ruby is now saying almost everything, she likes repeating what we say, oh-oh! She is getting taller by the day. When she's on her tippy-toes she can reach the door knobs now. I guess we're entering a whole new stage of baby-proofing. We had a fun time on Sunday listening to Christmas music (with breaks here and there to watch Barney) and putting up Christmas decorations. We're hoping to get a tree some time this week. It's starting to feel a lot like Christmas! We're so excited for Auntie Em to come on Saturday, yipeeeee!!!
Ruby has started to figure out how to pick her nose. Probably not the best idea when she's eatig waffles with syrup!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We had a great time and were happy to have Dave, Toni, Andy and Emily visiting and to share Thanksgiving with us. Dave & Doug prepared a feast and it was delicious! Anyone want any turkey? We are all over our colds thankfully but Ruby's now on to some pretty vicious teething. Poor girl has had a temperature and just feeling out of sorts for the past few days. We're hoping this means she'll be back to her normal self for the Christmas Holidays.
On Thanksgiving morning, Doug ran a 1/2 marathon and finished in just over 2 hours. We were all so proud. With the help from all of our friends and family, Doug was able to raise $6500 to help fund research that will enable early detection for Pancreatic Cancer. As you all know, this cause is close to his heart and he felt his mom was there with him when the run got hard. Beth, Sam, Lexi, Dave, Andy and Emily all made the trip to downtown Atlanta to watch Doug finish.
We have a budding artist. Ruby loves doing art projects and is working on naming her colors. She loves to say yellow! Thank goodness for washable markers!
