Auntie Em!

We had a great week! Auntie Em arrived on Saturday and Ruby has a new playmate. She loves dancing with Auntie Em and being chased around the house. She's not interested in Mommy or Daddy chasing her, she like Auntie Em to do it. Em is equally enamoured, it's been great to have an extra set of hands around! I think we finally got Ruby back to her normal sleeping routine. It took an hour of letting her cry at from 5am-6am on Saturday morning but since then she hasn't been up early. It was hard but well worth it for all of us.

Ruby LOVES spaghetti and can even say it now (almost).
She insisted on feeding herself oatmeal. Messy but fun!

Coloring is a favorite activity but playing with the marker caps is even better!

This is what happens when you get up at 4:30am!

Picking out our Christmas Tree.

Helping Daddy get the tree up.

You should have heard the giggles!

Auntie Em's glasses!

Check out Ruby feeding herself oatmeal.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We're all finally back to normal in the Vogt household! Ruby's teething pain seems to have let up a little and the horrible diaper rash is almost gone. Poor baby. We had a good, busy week. Daddy had to go to Savannah for work for a couple of days and we had a Christmas party on Saturday night. It was nice to get out for some adult time! Ruby is now saying almost everything, she likes repeating what we say, oh-oh! She is getting taller by the day. When she's on her tippy-toes she can reach the door knobs now. I guess we're entering a whole new stage of baby-proofing. We had a fun time on Sunday listening to Christmas music (with breaks here and there to watch Barney) and putting up Christmas decorations. We're hoping to get a tree some time this week. It's starting to feel a lot like Christmas! We're so excited for Auntie Em to come on Saturday, yipeeeee!!!

"The look of death"

Ruby has started to figure out how to pick her nose. Probably not the best idea when she's eatig waffles with syrup!

Letting her poor little bum air out. She loves running around with no diaper on.

Having a sleepover with Sam and Lexi. She LOVES those girls!

There's a long story behind this bunny. Ruby loves it and tries to carry it around even though it's solid ceramic. It's her new favorite thing.

Here's a video of Ruby saying "Ho, Ho, Ho". She can also say "Santa".

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We had a great time and were happy to have Dave, Toni, Andy and Emily visiting and to share Thanksgiving with us. Dave & Doug prepared a feast and it was delicious! Anyone want any turkey? We are all over our colds thankfully but Ruby's now on to some pretty vicious teething. Poor girl has had a temperature and just feeling out of sorts for the past few days. We're hoping this means she'll be back to her normal self for the Christmas Holidays.

On Thanksgiving morning, Doug ran a 1/2 marathon and finished in just over 2 hours. We were all so proud. With the help from all of our friends and family, Doug was able to raise $6500 to help fund research that will enable early detection for Pancreatic Cancer. As you all know, this cause is close to his heart and he felt his mom was there with him when the run got hard. Beth, Sam, Lexi, Dave, Andy and Emily all made the trip to downtown Atlanta to watch Doug finish.

Ruby listening to Daddy's iPod, she loved it! Do they make baby iPods? :)

Ruby like jumping on trampolines!

We have a budding artist. Ruby loves doing art projects and is working on naming her colors. She loves to say yellow! Thank goodness for washable markers!

Who's that little doggy?

Having fun with Daddy at Little Bears Indoor Playground.

Ruby loves Miss Priscilla's girls. She can say Leila pretty well now, she loves giving them hugs. She was delighted to play with them more than normal last week since they were off from school for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Kisses from Miss Priscilla's doggy Hunter.

We were at the Mall unsuccessfully trying to get pictures with Santa when she spotted this HUGE teddy bear. She loved it and probably would have dragged it home if she could!

Still sick...

Unfortunately, we're all still feeling under the weather. Daddy is almost better but Ruby and Mommy are having a pretty bad week. Hopefully things will turn around this week. Mommy is lucky she has such a great boss who let her work from home some of last week. We're also very lucky to have Miss Priscilla, she is so good to Ruby. The weather's starting to get chilly here so out came the hat and mitts! Ruby's laughing at Mommy pretending to trip and fall.

We went to a toy store this weekend and let Ruby loose to see what she likes so we could get some good ideas for Christmas. She loved the rocking horse, the big stuffed doggies and the babies. Boy, did she love those babies!

WE GOT OUT...ON A DATE...ALONE!
Thanks to Beth for babysitting, we finally got out to celebrate Mommy's birthday.

Mommy got out a peach to eat but Ruby stole it. She ate almost the entire thing!!!

Ruby likes to gather her toys and sit with them on the hearth and watch TV. She's really starting to climb now and the hearth is one of her favorite spots. This weekend she's also climbed up on the coffee table and a kitchen chair. I think we're really going to be busy now!

A house full of sickies...

It is officially cold and flu season and it has hit our house! It started with Daddy, then Ruby, then Mommy and seems to be back to Ruby again. No fun!! Ruby usually likes to watch Barney in the evening sitting in her rocking chair but was feeling too tired to sit up, so she found a more comfy place to watch. Poor baby.

Learning how to slurp spaghetti. She was concentrating very hard and so proud of herself when she actually figured out how to do it.

Sporting a mowhawk. Very amusing to Mommy and Daddy.

Ruby loves her babies! Is it just me or is that a miniature Doug???

Rubes and her BFF Ian. Ian got a cool new ride for his 3rd birthday! He came to pick Ruby up for dinner and drinks at 7pm. Daddy wouldn't let them past the end of the cul-de-sac. :)

Old married couple!

Ruby loves knocking down the towers we build. She gets very excited!!

Halloween!

We hope everyone had a fun Halloween! Ruby was our little skeleton - her bones glowed in the dark! She didn't quite get the concept of Trick or Treating and some of the costumes she saw scared her but we had lots of fun! Unfortunately, Daddy was really sick and couldn't come out with us through the neighborhood.

We went down to our neighborhood grocery store (Publix) to do some early Trick or Treating and Ruby got a cookie with her name on it! As you can see she LOVED it! We probably shouldn't have given her the whole thing though because when Mommy said we had to put the cookie away for later, she did not like that idea. So we survived our first temper tantrum in public!

Ruby's our little fashionista! She loved Miss Priscilla's daughter (Maddison's) ear muffs and scarf. She just loves Miss Priscilla's girls and loves it when the "big kids" get off the bus to play with her.

Pretty Fall pose, thanks to Miss Priscilla. :)

OK, so I thought this one was hilarious! She looks like a cute little Troll baby!

Mommy and Ruby. Ruby's wearing her pretty Princess hat that Mommy's friend Christina brought her last year. To Mommy's delight, Ruby likes to wear hats now and won't rip them off the second they get put on her head!

Ruby goes down slides all by herself now. If that isn't a mischievous face, I don't know what is!

For a few nights in a row, when we checked on Ruby before we went to bed, she was sleeping like this! Who knows why but luckily Daddy was able to move her without her waking up.

Ruby LOVES playing outside. She has so much fun watching Mr. Brian and Ian fly Ian's kite. She also loves driving around in her "ruck". Ruby adores Ian and even said his name the other day. She likes giving him big hugs.

Mommy & Ruby Week!

What a great week we had! Miss Priscilla went to Disney World with her family so Mommy took Wednesday, Thursday & Friday off of work and spent some wonderful quality time with Rubes. We had a blast! Daddy went to Pittsburgh with Uncle Dave and Pop Pop to watch the Steelers/Giants game for the weekend while Mommy and Ruby did lots of fun activities.

Ruby learned that dirt doesn't taste so great but we had to get just one picture before we cleaned her up! Yummy - it's protein right? Bet she won't do that again!

Ruby got all dressed up in her pretty dress she got from Aunt Jayne for her birthday because she was having a play date at her house on Friday. She had lots of fun with Maddie, Lily and Griffin. Ruby's a little shy when she's around a bunch of kids but she started to warm up as long as Mommy was close by.

Ruby and her little friend Maddie deep in conversation. I think they were talking about the latest Barney episode. "Can you believe PJ wouldn't clean up his toys? Boy, that wasn't very nice. Good thing Barney was there to teach him that cleaning up can be fun!" Haha, yeah right.

On Saturday, Mommy took Ruby to the Imagine It Children's Museum in downtown Atlanta. They went with Auntie Beth, Sam and Lexi. They had lots of fun!

Ruby loved painting but also learned that she didn't like the taste of paint. Guess you gotta try to know!

Mommy and Daddy's neighbors, Mandy & Brian had Mommy and Ruby over for dinner Saturday and Sunday night when Daddy was gone. Mommy was SO grateful for the WONDERFUL food and some playtime for Ruby. When ruby wasn't pulling Ian's hair or biting him, they had a great time! Ruby loved getting in their doggy Bella's crate and Ian thought it was funny to pet her, pretending she was a doggy. Pretty funny!

Uncle Dave sent Daddy a t-shirt with a picture of Nana on it for his race coming up. We talk about Nana all the time and look at her pictures every day so Ruby wanted to give her a big kiss when she saw her picture on the t-shirt. It was very sweet - we wish Ruby could give Nana a big kiss in real life.

Mommy and Ruby took a trip to the park on Sunday. As usual, Ruby loves that "cah, cah, cah" and "ruck"!
