Auntie Em!

We had a great week! Auntie Em arrived on Saturday and Ruby has a new playmate. She loves dancing with Auntie Em and being chased around the house. She's not interested in Mommy or Daddy chasing her, she like Auntie Em to do it. Em is equally enamoured, it's been great to have an extra set of hands around! I think we finally got Ruby back to her normal sleeping routine. It took an hour of letting her cry at from 5am-6am on Saturday morning but since then she hasn't been up early. It was hard but well worth it for all of us.

Ruby LOVES spaghetti and can even say it now (almost).
She insisted on feeding herself oatmeal. Messy but fun!

Coloring is a favorite activity but playing with the marker caps is even better!

This is what happens when you get up at 4:30am!

Picking out our Christmas Tree.

Helping Daddy get the tree up.

You should have heard the giggles!

Auntie Em's glasses!

Check out Ruby feeding herself oatmeal.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We're all finally back to normal in the Vogt household! Ruby's teething pain seems to have let up a little and the horrible diaper rash is almost gone. Poor baby. We had a good, busy week. Daddy had to go to Savannah for work for a couple of days and we had a Christmas party on Saturday night. It was nice to get out for some adult time! Ruby is now saying almost everything, she likes repeating what we say, oh-oh! She is getting taller by the day. When she's on her tippy-toes she can reach the door knobs now. I guess we're entering a whole new stage of baby-proofing. We had a fun time on Sunday listening to Christmas music (with breaks here and there to watch Barney) and putting up Christmas decorations. We're hoping to get a tree some time this week. It's starting to feel a lot like Christmas! We're so excited for Auntie Em to come on Saturday, yipeeeee!!!

"The look of death"

Ruby has started to figure out how to pick her nose. Probably not the best idea when she's eatig waffles with syrup!

Letting her poor little bum air out. She loves running around with no diaper on.

Having a sleepover with Sam and Lexi. She LOVES those girls!

There's a long story behind this bunny. Ruby loves it and tries to carry it around even though it's solid ceramic. It's her new favorite thing.

Here's a video of Ruby saying "Ho, Ho, Ho". She can also say "Santa".

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We had a great time and were happy to have Dave, Toni, Andy and Emily visiting and to share Thanksgiving with us. Dave & Doug prepared a feast and it was delicious! Anyone want any turkey? We are all over our colds thankfully but Ruby's now on to some pretty vicious teething. Poor girl has had a temperature and just feeling out of sorts for the past few days. We're hoping this means she'll be back to her normal self for the Christmas Holidays.

On Thanksgiving morning, Doug ran a 1/2 marathon and finished in just over 2 hours. We were all so proud. With the help from all of our friends and family, Doug was able to raise $6500 to help fund research that will enable early detection for Pancreatic Cancer. As you all know, this cause is close to his heart and he felt his mom was there with him when the run got hard. Beth, Sam, Lexi, Dave, Andy and Emily all made the trip to downtown Atlanta to watch Doug finish.

Ruby listening to Daddy's iPod, she loved it! Do they make baby iPods? :)

Ruby like jumping on trampolines!

We have a budding artist. Ruby loves doing art projects and is working on naming her colors. She loves to say yellow! Thank goodness for washable markers!

Who's that little doggy?

Having fun with Daddy at Little Bears Indoor Playground.

Ruby loves Miss Priscilla's girls. She can say Leila pretty well now, she loves giving them hugs. She was delighted to play with them more than normal last week since they were off from school for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Kisses from Miss Priscilla's doggy Hunter.

We were at the Mall unsuccessfully trying to get pictures with Santa when she spotted this HUGE teddy bear. She loved it and probably would have dragged it home if she could!
