Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the Father's out there! I'm so lucky to be married to one of the best Fathers in the whole world. We love you Daddy! Since I've been going to the chiropractor, Ruby has been saying that her back hurts too. She does NOT want the doctor to fix it but she requests that Daddy fixes it each night before bed. It's so cute to watch her lying there on the bed, getting her back fixed and going comatose because Daddy's giving her a massage. She's a Murray girl, that's for sure!

What a busy and FUN couple of weeks we've had! Beth, Sam & Lexi were in FL visiting Beth's parents so we got to drive down to visit with them twice and Ruby was in heaven!! She missed the girls so much and giggled pretty much the whole time she was with them. It breaks my heart that we don't live close anymore. We had a great time swimming, playing and shopping.

Mommy and Ruby then packed up for a fun adventure trip to Toronto to visit Auntie Em! We had a blast, Ruby did really well with the flights and we managed to stay on schedule for the most part while we were there. Ruby learned pretty fast that if Mommy said no, just go to Auntie Em. :) Em would always look at me with pitiful eyes, "how can I say no to that??" Aunties are for spoiling and I loved watching every minute of it. They had some streets in TO closed down for "Woofstock" on the weekend so we took a walk over and Ruby loved all the doggies. She was especially fond of a huge, stinky, drooly hound dog. Em and I had fun people watching. Some very interesting dog owners! Who knew there were baby Bjorn carriers for dogs?

Ruby experienced lots of firsts in Toronto; her first street car ride, her first subway ride, her first pedicure (from Auntie Em), her first donkey bite (yup, got bit by a donkey who was trying to get her lollipop), and the list goes on! Em had lots of fun things lined up for use which included a play date at a beautiful park, Woofstock, Riverdale Farms, Centreville, dinner with friends and lots of fun playing in between. I have have never seen Ruby run so fast as when she saw Em at the airport - she just took off and ran right into Em's arms and wouldn't let go until we reached the car in the parking deck. She missed her Auntie Em so much.

One of the things Ruby is into right now are big "diggers". There was a condo going up on the same street as Em's, so we'd take our daily walk over to the construction site to see the diggers at work. She loved watching them scoop the dirt and then put it in the dump truck. Very interesting.

Ruby also loves stories. On the flight back from TO, she was especially squirmy, so I started making up stories about a boy named Jack to keep her quiet. Now, I get story requests several times a day and her favorite one is when Jack made a huge mess getting into mommy's stuff in the bathroom. Hope she doesn't get any ideas.

I made a mistake by letting Ruby see me throw some laundry down the stairs the other day and now her favorite thing it to chuck whatever she can find over the railing. It's very interesting what I find on the stairs sometimes. Hope everyone had a nice weekend, we are SO excited that Auntie J-A is coming to see us on Saturday!!!!! Yippeee!!! Bye for now!

Silly girls!

Awww...we miss you guys!

My baby's getting so big!

I went to put some laundry away in her room and saw this. Too funny not to take a picture of. Auntie J-A made her the Three Bears and Goldilocks for her first Christmas. Guess she thought they needed a nap.

Ruby's favorite dog and Woofstock

She liked the small doggies too.

Yes, some people dye their dog's fur pink.

Em needed to work for a couple hours so we went to the Eaton Center and found the bookstore. Great kid's area!! We had a tea party.

Gamma, this cup's for you.

Auntie Em painting Ruby's toenails pink.

First streetcar ride!

"I see it, momma". She always wants to see the picture after I take it.

Laughing at some silly roosters. CHEERS! Ruby had her own special plastic wine glass at Em's friend Caroline's house.

She loves trying to use her knife and fork to eat like Mommy does.
On the ferry over to Centre Island. That's the CN Tower in the background!
On the barfcup, I mean teacup ride with Em.
Nothing makes a donkey bite feel better than some chocolate ice cream!
The blue card ride - her FAVORITE!
Just cruisin'

Little Monkey!

Wow, how can such a little person be SO busy??? She is into everything and I mean everything! She is such a curious little girl, which we love, but it's hard for mommy and daddy to keep up sometimes!
We love going for leisurely strolls and letting Ruby lead the way. It's so cute to watch her stop every few steps to pick up another gem. Everything is so exciting to her, an old leaf, a twig, and OH an acorn! By the end of our walks, she has both hands full of her new-found treasures.
It's so much fun to see Ruby's imagination develop. She's playing a lot more of a mature roll with her dolls now. I snuck up on her the other day to listen to her read one of her favorite books to "dolly". It was so sweet. The other day, daddy was giving Ruby her dinner and she started using her french fry as a phone - "hello?" Imagination at work!
She is also very mischievous. When it's been quiet for more than 30 seconds, I always go check. The other day while I was vacuuming, she got into my bathroom, into my top drawer and found my darkest lip gloss and put it on. It was so cute, she just wanted to be like mommy. I have since hid all dark lip glosses!
Ruby's vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds. She now talks in full sentences and it's so much fun to have a conversation with her. Sadly, she doesn't call me Momma much anymore, it's just MOM!!! I'm not sure where she learned that but when she wants to get up in the morning or go somewhere, she shouts for me, "MOM, you comin'?"
One of Ruby's favorite things is going to the beach, which we manage to do at least once a weekend. She loves when the waves crash into her and building sandcastles. Daddy knocked one of her sand castles over today and he didn't hear the end of it. She was still talking about it when she went to bed tonight. She was NOT happy with daddy!
We have an exciting week coming up! Beth, Sam and Lexi will be visiting Beth's parents only about 40 mins away so we'll get to play with them this week and then Ruby and Mommy are flying to Toronto to visit Auntie Em on Saturday. Yippee!! Have a great couple of weeks everyone!

Finally enough hair for pigtails!
Why were you so quite, Miss Ruby?

Caught you!

Another breakfast shot - couldn't resist, it was too cute!
Going for an after supper stroll.

Eating corn on the cob for the first time. She loved it!

She did pretty darn good!
