Charlotte - Week 19

Charlie had her 4 month appointment this week and she's doing great! She's 13lbs, 2oz and almost 26 inches long. That puts her in the 50th percentile for weight and the 95th for height! She's our tall girl. The pediatrician told me that she was trouble since she was trying to roll and scooch herself off the table to hold time. She's so strong, she's almost rolling over from her back to her stomach all by herself now. I know she'll be doing it any day. She's just so much fun and is constantly screeching happily and talking to herself or her toys or us.

We have an exciting day tomorrow, Ruby goes to the dentist for the very first time and then Grandpa and Gretta are flying in! Ruby is actually very excited about the dentist and can't wait to go. It helped that the last time Pop Pop was here, he took out his false teeth and showed Ruby and told her that's what would happen if she didn't brush her teeth. She's been letting me brush her teeth like an angel ever since.

Happy, happy girl!

Our favorite goofball.

Having so much fun on the fire truck!

Football does this to me too. And church.

So happy to have a bare bum!
Sorry Charlie, just had to do it!

Oh stop it mom, you're making me blush!

Charlotte - Week 18

Charlotte turned 4 months old this week and she's the sweetest 4 month old that I know! She's so strong and curious and smart. She always is trying to stand up or sit up or roll over and always wants to know what's going on when she hears a noise. Not much phases her, she's used to having Ruby yell in her ear or shake her arms or bounce her bouncy seat violently, etc...I find myself constantly feeling guilty for not spending as much quality time down on the ground playing with Charlie but I guess that's probably pretty normal for child #2. Also, I suppose since I'm a mom, I have to feel guilty about something. :)

We left Charlie with a sitter for the first time this past weekend for an overnight and it went great! She was a perfect little angel and stayed right on schedule. She didn't seem to notice that we even left. So different than Ruby at this age. Separation anxiety had already set in pretty bad for Ruby by 4 months. Doug and I had a great night seeing HGTR rock out and it was so great to catch up with Stephen and the band.

Stephen had a day off on Monday and was able to come spend the day with us! We had such a great time and I think we really wore him out. Ruby had him up bright and early and just loved climbing on him and playing. We wish we could do that a whole lot more often. Miss you already, Uncle Stephen.

Daddy's been on a work trip this week so it's just the girls holding down the fort and we're having a pretty good week. We have Charlotte's 4 month dr. appt. on Friday, I'm so excited to see how much she's grown - but not excited for the shots. :(

We can't wait for you to come home daddy!! xoxo

Our girls.

Charlie loves chewing on Sophie the giraffe.

Such a happy girl.

You really can't take your eyes off of her for too long. She's almost out of her bouncy seat here. If you look closely you can see that she's standing up and almost out of the harness!

Tummy time!

This is Ruby at 20 weeks!!

This picture just makes me laugh.

He's a natural.

Holding/protecting Charlie. :)

In her exersaucer for the first time.

Ruby takes time out from riding her bike to show Charlie how it works.

She LOVES her baths!

Hi cutie!

Charlotte - Week 16 & 17

First of all Charlie, if you're reading this when you're older, I'm sorry I'm not doing a great job of keeping up with this every week. I promise I'll do better in 2011! Having 2 kids is hard!

We had a very busy couple of weeks, Charlotte is developing in leaps and bounds and is getting so strong. She started rolling over from front to back last week, she won't stay on her belly for any time at all, she just immediately flips over to her back. I'm certain she's close to rolling from her back to her tummy, I was watching her in her baby monitor in her crib this afternoon and she almost did it a couple of times. She's also learned how to make big splashes in the tub by kicking her chubby little legs as hard as she can. She loves it and the bathroom usually looks like a tidal wave hit it by the end of the bath.

We've gotten a couple little giggles out of Charlie, I can't wait for the full belly laughs. She's a sweet baby and loves her big sister, most of the time. She was buckled in her bouncy seat this morning and Ruby was sitting there playing with her while I stepped away for 1 MINUTE to check my email and when I peaked back in the room to check on them, Ruby had her OUT of her bouncy seat and on her lap on the floor. Yikes!!!

We had a really exciting weekend watching Daddy run his Marathon and visiting Disney for the very first time. Doug did so great and finished at 4:48 - go Daddy! Ruby loved Disney World and says that her favorite ride was Peter Pan. Although we had fun, we have decided we're not the annual pass kind of Disney family. :)

I can't believe Charlie will be 4 months old on Saturday - wow! Doug and I are getting away to see HGTR in Tampa this weekend and will be leaving her with a sitter for the first time. I'm trying not to freak out. But so excited to see Stephen - yippee!!

Hope every one's having a great 2011 so far!

Oh, this look says it all.
